PFG Cash Metals - Bulllion and Coins PDF Print E-mail
Written by DeCarley Trading LLC

Buy Gold and Silver BullionWhether it´s one coin or a roll of coins, please call so we can meet your demand. However, due to the extraordinary global demand for gold and silver coins, all sales will be on a first come, first serve basis. Our clearning firm, PFG, has been unable to stockpile enough coins to meet current demand. Therefore, call in and speak to a broker and find out what is available.
DECARLEY'S VIEW ON GOLD AND SILVER BULLION

DeCarley has made it a priority to meet the needs and wants of our clients.  Despite the fact that our primary business is commodity futures trading, due to high demand for the trading of physical metals products, we have formed relationships with those that can effectively and efficiently allow us to provide metals ingot and coin services.

However, we highly encourage you to ask a DeCarley representative about alternatives to bullion.  The recent spike in demand for cash metals can sometimes create scenario's in which bullion buyers are expected to pay far more than the futures market price may reflect.  Accordingly, we believe that in some cases it may be far more attractive to utilize alternate means of acquiring exposure to metals than gold and silver bullion.

Additionally, many publications seem to downplay the risk involved in metals investing.  The price of gold and silver are highly volatile whether you are trading the futures or physical markets and should be seen as a speculative vehicle rather than an investment.

Below you will find a brief discussion of metals bullion trading as provided by our clearning firm.

PORTFOLIO DIVERSIFICATION OF PRECIOUS METALS

Many investment experts believe that adding precious metals to your portfolio may improve its performance. That’s because the forces that determine metal’s price usually differ from, and in many cases counter, the forces that determine the price of many financial assets. Investment advisors often suggest that this relationship may help to reduce portfolio volatility. American Eagle Bullion Coins are the easy, convenient and affordable way to add precious metals to your portfolio.

Historically, silver has been the most affordable precious metal. Gold offers the same diversification attributes, but is available in four denominations of higher value. The diverse values act as building blocks for precious metals investment. They increase your portfolio’s diversity by bringing balance, because their value often moves independently of stocks and bonds. In this fast-paced world of electronic investing, American Eagles are tangible investments whose beauty and artistry you can literally hold in the palm of your hand

ABOUT AMERICAN EAGLE GOLD COINS

Authorized by Congress in 1985 and first minted in 1986, American Eagle Gold Bullion Coins are minted according to the durable, 22-karat standard established for circulating gold coinage 350 years ago. Each coin contains its full, stated weight of pure gold, which by law, must be taken from newly mined sources in America. Gold Eagles are rich in history, too. The obverse is based on world-renowned American sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens’ design for the prized 1907 $20 gold coin.  The reverse pictures a family of eagles, symbolizing family tradition and unity

BUY AND SELL WITH MOST METALS DEALERS

One measure of an investment is liquidity:  how easily can it be converted to cash?  American Eagles, with their unique U.S. Government backing, can be sold for cash at most coin and precious metals dealers worldwide.  They’re also legal tender.  Their face value is largely symbolic, because precious metal’s market price – which is reported in the market pages and web sites of major news outlets – has historically been higher.

Buying American Eagles from our clearing firm, PFG, is easy.  We sell at the market’s prevailing market price, plus a small premium to cover coinage and distribution costs.  Because silver is typically the lowest-priced precious metal, Silver Eagles are affordable for nearly every investor.  As an alternative, Gold Eagles are available in four convenient denominations of higher value.

BACKED BY PFG – GUARANTEED BY THE U.S. GOVERNMENT

American Eagle Bullion Coins are America’s only official investment-grade bullion coins. They’re the world’s only bullion coins whose weight, content and purity are guaranteed by the United States Government.  So like the dollar, American Eagles are welcome in major investment markets worldwide.  You can even include them in an Individual Retirement Account (IRA).

OBTAINING YOUR INVESTMENT IN GOLD

Bullion is available in 32.3, 100, and 400 oz ingots. Bulk sales upon request. Coins are 1/10th through 1 oz in all international denominations. Delivery is available anywhere in the world through an insured delivery system. Payment options are all forms of credit cards and bank wires.

Full Service or Online?

The decision to trade online or through a full service broker will undoubtedly make a large impact on your bottom line.  However, the impact may or may not be what you had in mind.  If you aren’t ready to begin placing your orders online on your own, despite saving money on commission it may be the most costly mistake that you ever make.

While commission is baggage, a slightly higher rate it may be worth every penny assuming that your broker is truly giving you what you are paying for…reliable and efficient execution along with quality guidance in strategy and analysis.

Choosing a Commodity Broker

Most traders that are in the market for a broker are concerned primarily with trading platforms, commission and the quality of information provided such as newsletters.  However, if you are in the market for a full service broker, you need to take your research one step further.  Not only do you need to find a firm that is capable of meeting your logistic needs, but it is crucial that you choose an individual broker in which you can properly communicate, are comfortable with their experience and most of all trust to help you on your journey to being a successful trader.

Choosing a Brokerage Firm

Deciding on a brokerage firm is a significant decision and shouldn’t be taken lightly.  Before committing to a firm it is imperative that you research their services, experience, trading platforms and commission structure but more importantly whether your trading style and personality will be compatible.   For example, a beginning trader shouldn’t look to a deep discount online brokerage firm simply because they likely won’t get the guidance that they will need as a novice.  Similarly, a seasoned trader wouldn’t want to choose a firm that focuses on high-end service with a hefty price tag.

Commodities are hot, as Jim Rogers would say.  Stagnant stocks and the massive bull rally in raw commodities have lured much of the attention away from Wall Street and toward down-town Chicago.  It is difficult to turn on the television or open the newspaper without being reminded of the impact that commodity prices have on our daily lives.

Traders are starving for simply written and comprehensive information on commodity speculation through options.  Unfortunately, most option trading literature is focused on the equity markets. There are very few books written that cater to commodity option traders and even fewer that are capable of pointing out the differences between the two arenas and guiding traders through the transition from stocks to commodities.  This is that book.
